The Saskatchewan Rush remain undefeated on the year as they put together a 17-12 win over the Colorado Mammoth in Denver on Saturday night.

With the win, the Rush improve to 4-0 on the year, leaving them as the only undefeated team in the National Lacrosse League.

Ben McIntosh powered the Rush in the win with two goals and ten points, while Matthew Dinsdale and Robert Church both picked up a hat trick and five points.

The Rush overcame a slow start that saw them sit tied with the Mammoth at 3-3 after one with Mark Matthews, Church and Dinsdale scoring in the frame.

Dinsdale scored his second straight goal early in the second and Mike Messenger added to the Rush’s lead less than two minutes later as they built up a 5-3 advantage. The Rush scored five goals in the second quarter to take an 8-5 lead at halftime.

The teams traded goals early in the third with Curtis Knight and Adrian Sorichetti scoring for Saskatchewan. The Rush would pull away as they scored four straight goals — Church, Knight with a pair and McIntosh — over the final 8:39 of the period.

The Mammoth battled back in the fourth, scoring five, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap on the Rush as Church and Dinsdale completed their hat tricks and Messanger helped seal the win.

Saskatchewan goalie Evan Kirk made 33 saves in the win, while the Rush fired 54 shots on the Mammoth net.

The Rush sit first in the Western Division, one game ahead of Colorado. Saskatchewan will return to the field on Friday when they host the Buffalo Bandits at SaskTel Centre.
