The Saskatchewan Roughriders took over sole possession of second place in the CFL's West Division as they rebounded with a 30-29 win over the Toronto Argonauts at BMO Field on Saturday night.

The perpetually dormant Riders' offence woke up in the victory, accounting for three touchdowns, tripling their total from the past two weeks, to help Saskatchewan improve to 8-5 this season.

Riders quarterback Zach Collaros connected on a pair of touchdown passes to receiver Jordan Williams-Lambert and finished the game 14-of-25 for 233 yards, adding two interceptions as well.

Running back Marcus Thigpen broke off an 82-yard touchdown in the second quarter that helped Saskatchewan build up a 24-14 lead at halftime.

Toronto battled back in the third quarter. Collaros was intercepted by Trumaine Washington and returned 62 yards for a touchdown that tied the game at 27-27 heading into the fourth quarter.

A 56-yard field goal from Brett Lauther with 1:20 to go gave the Riders a two-point edge and Toronto kicker Zackary Medeiros missed a 51-yard attempt of his own with ten seconds left, giving Saskatchewan the win.

Naaman Roosevelt had a big game with five catches for 105 yards for the Riders, while Thigpen finished with 95 yards on four carries.

Argos quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson finished 32-of-44 for 321 yards and was picked off by Loucheiz Purifoy.

James Wilder Jr. was held to 48 yards on nine carries, but he had seven catches for 74 yards. S.J. Green led the Argos with six catches for 106 yards.

Former Riders receiver Duron Carter didn't register a catch in the loss.

The Riders are now two points ahead of the Edmonton Eskimos for second place in the West Division after Edmonton fell 28-15 to the Ottawa Redblacks on Saturday.

Saskatchewan returns to the field next Sunday when they travel to Montreal to face the Alouettes.
