Duron Carter is sticking around in Riderville.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced on Monday that they have inked the star wide receiver to a one-year contract extension, keeping him in Green and White for the 2018 season.

Carter originally signed with the Riders last January and put together a stellar 2017 season that saw him record a career-high of 1,043 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, both led the team.

Last season also saw Carter add another element to his game as he lined up at defensive back, starting one game on defence. He collected nine defensive tackles and one interception, which he returned 43 yards for a touchdown.

Carter was named the Riders’ Most Outstanding Player, a CFL and West Division All-Star.

Carter was scheduled to become a free agent on Feb. 13.
