It was a successful weekend in Alberta for the Moose Jaw Atom A Red Warriors.

The Red Warriors went 4-0 on their way to the 'A' side title at the Blackfalds Atom Tournament, beating the Sturgeon Mustangs 9-1 in the final on Sunday.

Carter Hudyma had four goals in the win for Moose Jaw, while Brodyn Pladson picked up two goals and three points in the final.

Moose Jaw actually beat Sturgeon twice by the same score, winning 9-1 over the Mustangs in their second game on Friday. The Red Warriors opened the tournament with a 10-5 win over the hosts on Friday and also beat Thorsby, 11-1, in round-robin play on Saturday.

Against Blackfalds on Friday, Hudyma led the charge with four goals and six points, while Austin Smith had two goals and five points. Nate Lewko and Pladson also scored in the win.

In the Red Warriors' first meeting with the Mustangs, Hudyma and Pladson found the back of the net three times each, while Smith picked up four assists. Roman Markin and Lewko also scored in the win.

On Saturday against Thorsby, Lewko had a hat trick and four points, while Pladson had two goals and four points. Max Craig, Suliman Suliman, Kashton Smith and Luke Harder also scored for Moose Jaw.

Goalies Hayden Nidesh and Ben Barth split the four wins for Moose Jaw.

The Red Warriors return to Hockey Regina League play on Sunday when they travel to Bethune to take on the Lumsden/Bethune Lions.

The Moose Jaw Atom B Knights were also in Alberta for a tournament over the weekend and put together a stellar showing.

Playing up a level at the Medicine Hat Atom A Tournament, the Knights finished in second place, falling 6-0 to the Drumheller Raptors in the 'A' Final on Sunday.

The Knights opened the tournament with a 1-1 tie against the Medicine Hat Red Wings, but then skated to back-to-back shutout wins in their next two games, winning 1-0 over the Okotoks Oilers and topping the Regina Blues, 3-0.

Jayce Finiak picked up the shutout in both games for Moose Jaw.

Over the course of the weekend, Colton Flanagan led the Knights with two goals and three points, while Porter Tkachuk and Zak Philipation had a goal and an assist.

The Knights return to league play on Sunday to face off with the Vipers at the Kinsmen Arena.

The Moose Jaw Peewee Mavericks scored a pair of lopsided wins over the weekend in the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League.

The Mavericks host the Wood River Ice Cats on Friday night, skating to an 11-1 win at the Red Knight Arena. Moose Jaw then travelled to Lafleche on Sunday and beat the Ice Cats, 9-0.

Jesse Mielke had six goals and seven points and Brooklyn Nimegeers added three goals and five points in Friday's win. Ashley Breitkreuz also chipped in with two goals and three points and Kiana Hrechka finished with three helpers.

On Sunday, Mielke repeated her performance with another six goals and seven points. Breitkreuz added two goals and six points, while Morgan Loney picked up the other marker for Moose Jaw.

The Mavericks are now 11-4-1 this season. They return to the ice on Friday to host the Swift Current Fire Cats, puck drops at 7:15 p.m. at the Kinsmen Arena.

The Moose Jaw Midget A Warriors scored their first win of the season on Saturday. 

The Warriors skated to a 5-0 win over the Indian Head Chiefs at the Kinsmen Arena, which gave them a split of their two games in the Hockey Regina League over the weekend.

Moose Jaw had lost 6-3 to Cupar on Friday night.

The Warriors are 1-21-0 this season. They're off until next Saturday when they host the Regina Cougars at the Barkman Arena in Caronport.

In other Hockey Regina action, the Bantam A Warriors lost 6-0 to the Regina Tigers on Friday and they dropped a 9-2 game to the Regina Buffaloes on Saturday.

Jacob King and Hayden Hudyma scored for the Warriors in the loss, which dropped their record to 0-18-1 this season.

Moose Jaw will host the Regina Cougars next Friday at the Kinsmen Arena.

It was losses across the board for local teams in the Saskatchewan AA Hockey League.

The Moose Jaw Peewee AA Warriors fell twice in Melville over the weekend, losing 7-2 to the Millionaires on Saturday and 5-2 on Sunday.

Marc Belanger and Aiden MacDonald had a goal and two points each in Saturday's loss. Bryce Boughen finished with a goal and two points, and Dylan Duzan also scored for Moose Jaw on Sunday.

The Bantam AA Warriors lost 5-2 to the Regina Aces on Sunday at the Red Knight Arena in their lone game of the weekend. Austin Woodley and Rowan Calvert scored for Moose Jaw in the loss.

The Midget AA Warriors were shutout 8-0 by the Regina Vics on Saturday.
