The Prince Albert Raiders' run is over.

The Raiders lost 5-2 to the OHL champion Guelph Storm on Tuesday night to finish 0-3 at the 2019 CHL Memorial Cup in Halifax.

The WHL representative has gone without a win each of the last four years at the CHL championship tournament, a stretch that has reached 13 straight losses dating back to the Kelowna Rockets' 2-1 overtime loss to Oshawa in the 2015 final.

The Raiders and Storm went back-and-forth during a wild final ten minutes of the first period on Tuesday.

Fedor Gordeev opened the scoring for the Storm with 9:42 gone in the first and Sean Montgomery was able to answer for the Raiders 1:50 later to tie the game at 1-1.

The Storm moved back in front on a goal from Isaac Ratcliffe with just under five minutes left in the opening period, but Dante Hannoun responded for Prince Albert with 44 seconds left in the first to make it a 2-2 game after one.

The Raiders weren't able to ride the momentum from the late goal to start the second, however, as the Storm struck for goals from Liam Hawel and Nick Suzuki in the opening 5:02 of the second to take a 4-2 lead.

Suzuki scored his second of the game early in the third to seal the win for Guelph.

The round robin ends on Wednesday with the 2-0 Halifax Mooseheads facing the 1-1 Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, both teams, along with 2-1 Guelph have already advanced into the playoff round. The semifinal is Friday and the final goes on Sunday.
