Keagon Little scored twice for the Prairie Hockey Academy Midget Varsity Cougars, but it wasn't enough as they lost 4-3 to the Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy on Thursday.

The game was the first of four in three days for P.H.A. in Shawnigan Lake, B.C. to close out their pre-Christmas schedule.

CDA opened the scoring just 3:52 into the game on a goal from Garrett Weisenburger. They extended that lead to 2-0 midway through the second period when Kenny Thiefault beat PHA goalie Ryley Gross.

The Cougars struck back as Little scored with 6:12 left in the second and then again with 1:53 to go in the period to tie the game at 2-2 heading into the third.

Issac Hood reclaimed the lead for CDA, but Tanner Funk answered back for PHA with 9:04 to play in regulation.

It wasn't meant to be for the Cougars, however, as Weisenburger scored his second of the game with 42 seconds left to give CDA the win.

Jaedon Little and Noah Wills chipped in with two assists in the loss. Gross made 28 saves in net for PHA.

The Cougars are back on the ice on Friday for a pair of games, as they battle the Edge School at 12:30 p.m. and then they take on the host Shawnigan Lake School at 7 p.m.

PHA will finish their weekend against the Okanagan Hockey Academy on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

The PHA Elite 15 Cougars are also on the road this weekend as they play four games in Edmonton. PHA takes on the Okanagan Hockey Academy in their opener on Friday at 1:45 p.m.
