Another first for the Prairie Hockey Academy this weekend.

In a season filled with firsts for the local program, the PHA Elite 15 Cougars get set to host the Prairie Classic tournament over the next three days at the Barkman Arena in Caronport. The Cougars will host the SEAC Tigers, St. Albert Flyers and Headwater Hurricanes for the four-team tournament.

PHA's Elite 15 squad is off to a great start to their first season in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League with a 16-7-0 record. They're also riding a four-game winning streak, including a 3-2 overtime win against the first place Burnaby Winter Club in their final game before the holiday break.

This weekend will also mark the first games behind the bench with the team for Lorne Molleken, who was hired as the team's new head coach last week.

The action starts on Friday night with the host Cougars going up against the Tigers at 5 p.m. That's followed by the Flyers battling the Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m.

The round robin continues on Saturday with four games at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday, the bronze medal game is set for 10 a.m. and that will be followed by the final at 12:30 p.m.
