The Moose Jaw Peewee A Warriors made the short trip into the Queen City on Monday night and secured a close 4-3 win over the Regina Blues in the Hockey Regina League.

Nolan Kearns scored his second of the game with 7:11 to go in regulation to put the Warriors in front 4-2 and they held on the rest of the way for the win.

Moose Jaw opened up a 3-0 lead in the first period thanks to goals from Kearns, Aiden MacDonald and Marc Belanger.

The Blues fought back with a pair of second period goals from Jarrett Knowles and Cole Hachkewich to make it a one-goal game heading into the third.

Kearns’ second of the game gave Moose Jaw some breathing room and they would need it with Knowles picking up his second of the game with 3:42 remaining to make it a one-goal game again.

The Warriors would hold the fort the rest of the way for the win.

The win improves the Warriors’ record to 12-3-3 on the year, which has them one point out of first place in the league.

They return to the ice this Saturday to face the Prairie Storm Lightning in Pilot Butte.
