Nolan Kearns had a hat trick and five points in a 6-6 tie for the Moose Jaw Peewee A Warriors against the Regina Mustangs on Wednesday night in the Queen City.

Regina’s Preston Orr scored with 17 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game for the Mustangs.

Kearns scored just under three minutes into the game to open the scoring and Jasmine Kohl gave Moose Jaw a 2-0 lead just over 1:30 later.  Regina would get on the board later in the period to make it a one-goal game after one.

The game was back-and-forth early in the second as Regina’s Noah Bussiere scored to tie the game up 6:15 into the frame, but Kearns answered back for Moose Jaw just 15 seconds later.

Kearns’ hat trick goal came with 7:16 to go in the second period to put the Warriors up by two. The Mustangs responded with a goal from Cater Miller 4:02 later. Carter Michaluk restored the Warriors’ two-goal later with 1:59 to go, but Regina was able to cut it back to down to one on a goal from Cowen Pottle only 18 seconds later.

Regina tied the game midway through the third, but Kohl’s second of the game with 4:14 to go gave Moose Jaw the lead again before Orr’s game-tying goal in the final seconds.

Kohl had two goals, while Gage Nagel added three assists for Moose Jaw in the game.

The tie puts the Warriors’ record at 14-3-4, which has them two points clear of the Regina Bisons for first place in the Hockey Regina League.
