Moose Jaw's Kirk Mullen and Team Saskatchewan doubled up Nova Scotia, 6-3, to book their ticket into the semifinals at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer.

Warriors prospect Brett Mirwald made 31 saves to backstop Saskatchewan to the win.

Regina's Cole Sillinger and Prince Albert’s Ashton Ferster had a goal and two points each to lead the way offensively for Team Sask.

Karter Prosofsky, Logan Linklater, Gabriel Klassen and Nolan Allan also scored in the win.

Saskatchewan will now take on Quebec in the semi-final on Thursday at 5 p.m.

The other semi-final will have Warriors prospect Corson Ceulemans and Team Alberta going up against Team Ontario at 8:30 p.m. Warriors first-round pick Eric Alarie had a goal and two points for Manitoba in a 6-3 quarter-final loss to Ontario on Wednesday, while Ceulemans had an assist for Alberta in their 8-3 victory over New Brunswick on Wednesday.

In other action at the Games, Moose Jaw's Marc-André Doyon finished in 17th place on Wednesday in the Male 1,000-metre long track speed skating event. He posted a time of 1:20.21.

Doyon will finish his time at the Games on Thursday in the Male Mass Start event.
