Moose Jaw's Molly Morris is the latest player from Moose Jaw Soccer to sign a commitment with the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.

Morris is a midfielder who recently signed with the Medicine Hat Rattlers, and Moose Jaw Soccer technical and executive director Jordan Jeffery said it's a fantastic opportunity for Morris.

“It’s a big goal of our Moose Jaw FC program that when a player leaves high school, we’d like them to be in a situation where they at least have an opportunity to potentially explore playing post-secondary,” said Jeffery. “We’re delighted that Molly has that opportunity to continue.”

Jeffrey said the Moose Jaw product will be working with Medicine Hat women’s soccer and futsal head coach Robert Cavicchia.

“Robert is a great coach and I’m looking forward to seeing how she takes the next step there,” Jeffery said. “And I think it’s fantastic for Moose Jaw we’ve been able to produce another athlete that’s going to be able to go on and play at a higher level.”

While the soccer clubs in the ACAC weren't able to get the regular season or playoffs underway due to the pandemic, it's hoped they'll have some kind of season in the fall. In 2019 the Rattlers were 5-4-and-3 in the regular season, and also have former Peacock star Kristina Segall as an assistant coach.

Medicine Hat College’s Facebook account said in a release that “Molly is a very technical player with great tactical awareness and was also the captain of her club team.”
