A pair of Dustin Ernest Prospects Camps were held at Caronport’s Barkman Arena over the weekend.

Players both in 2006 and 2007 from all over southern Saskatchewan were watched by four scouts from the Western Hockey League and 11 from other levels of hockey. Scouts came from the WHL, U18 AAA, Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

Limited to eight skaters on ice, they were limited to skills and drills.

The event was live-streamed as well for coaches and scouts that couldn’t make it. Still, the event captured the attention of many scouts.

Ernest said in an email that he wanted to hold another camp in June, where he hopes they’ll be able to scrimmage.
