This week kicked off with a busy five-game slate in the Moose Jaw High School Junior Basketball League on Monday night.

There was three boys game that hit the court throughout the night.

At Vanier, the Red Vikings scored a 20-point win over the Central Gold Cyclones in a battle of the two undefeated teams. Vanier Red won 72-52 to improve to 6-0 on the year, while Central Gold falls 4-1 in the junior boys standings.

Nathan Meili scored 21 points in the win for the Red Vikings, while Rayann Cabral added 16 points and Rainer Olson added 14. Dylan Boughen was Central’s top scorer with 11 points.

The Riverview/Cornerstone Royals rolled to a 94-26 win over the Central Butte Bulldogs. The win improved the Royals to a 3-2 record, while Central Butte fell to 0-4.

Riley Marshall was the game’s top scorer with 34 points in the win, while Reymond Tallud scored 17 points and Reggie Tallud poured in 15. Carl Martel was Central Butte’s leading scorer with eight.

The Central Red Cyclones picked up a 87-27 win over the Assiniboia Rockets. The win keeps Central Red undefeated at 4-0, while Assiniboia falls to 1-5.

On the girls side of things, the Peacock Toilers went into Riverview and won 61-20 over the Royals. Peacock improves to 5-0, while Riverview drops to 1-4.

Caitlin Miller led Peacock with 15 points, while Eden Gusa and Caitlyn Johnson had 10 points each. Brianna Sieferling was Riverview’s top scorer with six in the loss.

The Central Butte Bulldogs won 50-31 over the Assiniboia Rockets to improve to 2-3 on the year. The loss drops Assiniboia to 0-5.

Madison Gardner scored 11 points to lead the way for Central Butte, while Nicole Peterson added 10. Raina Peterson led Assiniboia with 11 points in the loss.

The junior league is off now until Feb. 5.

The Moose Jaw Senior Basketball League is on the court for four games on Tuesday night with Vanier heading to Assiniboia and Caronport hosting Centre.
