The Moose Jaw High School Junior Basketball League returned to the court for four games on Monday night.

The Riverview Royals knocked off the Assiniboia Rockets, 47-34, in a junior girls meeting. 

Brianna Sieferling led the Royals with 15 points, while Kirsten Hunter chipped in 12. Raina Peterson paced the Rockets with 12 points in the loss, while Lakeda Peterson added 10 points.

The win was the first of the season for the Royals, who are now 1-2 in the junior varsity girls league. The Rockets drop to 0-4 in the junior girls league.

The other girls game on Monday saw the Central Cyclones head into Central Butte and beat the Bulldogs, 39-33. The win improves Central to 2-2, while Central Butte falls to 1-2.

Both Vanier teams were on the court on Monday night in the junior boys league.

The Vanier White Vikings went into Peacock and lost, 89-26, to the Peacock Green Toilers.

Every player on the Green Toilers scored in the win, led by 13 points from Evan Polupski. Hayden Tollefson chipped in with 11 points and Rylan Eirich-Watson added 10.

Sam Moyse and Xander Montgomery both scored eight points in the loss for the White Vikings.

Peacock now sits at 3-1 after the win, while Vanier White drops to 0-4 on the year.

The Vanier Red Vikings improved to 4-0 with a dominating 92-32 win over the Assiniboia Rockets.  The Rockets drop to 1-3 with the loss.

The junior leagues will be back on the court on Wednesday for four more games. There’s three junior girls games with Vanier hosting Riverview, Central entertaining Cornerstone and Peacock facing Central Butte. The lone boys game has Vanier Red hosting Peacock Green in a big game.
