Moose Jaw's Jordan Logan will be hitting the field with Team Saskatchewan over the next four days at the 2018 Baseball Canada 21U Men's National Championship.

Logan and Team Saskatchewan open the tournament with a showdown against defending gold medal-winning Quebec on Thursday morning in St. Thomas, ON.

"That will be a good challenge for us to start off against them and see how we pair up with that team," said Logan.

Logan had the chance to play for Saskatchewan at nationals last summer as well, helping the team to a fourth-place finish.

The Moose Jaw Regals catcher said that he learned a lot from that experience that will help him heading into the tournament a second time around.

"It will be good to get a second crack at it, we finished fourth last year, so we're hoping to come in and battle and hopefully come away with a medal this year," he said.

"I've just got to stay focused and stay with your game plan with the team; trust your coaches and your teammates to work with you and hopefully come out with the win in the end."

Logan added that this year's team compares well to last year's fourth-place team. "We've picked up some extra pitching and extra hitting, that's always good to have and with those additions, we'll be able to do well," he said.

Saskatchewan and Quebec hit the field at 10:30 a.m. Sask time for their opening game at nationals. Click here for the full schedule.
