Moose Jaw's Chase Lacombe was preparing to head to camp with the Edmonton Oil Kings this weekend, but there's been a change of plans.

The local product was dealt from Edmonton to the Swift Current Broncos in a four-player deal on Tuesday.

Lacombe, along with centre Matthew Culling, a fourth-round pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft and a second-round pick in 2020, was traded to Swift Current in exchange for 17-year-old defencemen Jacson Alexander and Chad Smithson, as well as a 2020 sixth-round pick.

In 42 games last season with the Moose Jaw Generals in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League, Lacombe posted one goal and two points to go along with 14 penalty minutes.

Lacombe was a fifth-round selection, 101st overall, of the Oil Kings in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.

Alexander was the centrepiece of the deal after he was a part of the Broncos' run to the WHL Championship. He posted five points in 32 regular season games and one assist in 26 playoff games.
