Nolan Jones' second goal is easily the biggest of his young junior hockey career.

The Moose Jaw product scored the overtime winner for the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Sunday night in a 5-4 win over the Red Deer Rebels at the Enmax Centre.

The back-and-forth game saw Lethbridge jump out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, Red Deer took the lead after three straight goals and then Lethbridge retook the lead with just over a minute to play in the third period on Taylor Ross' hat-trick goal. The Rebels tied the game back up with Brett Davis' second of the game with just 18 seconds left in regulation.

Jones ended the contest with second career goal just 1:50 into overtime.

The goal gives Jones a goal and two points during the Hurricanes' sweep of their three-in-three weekend. The rookie has two goals and seven points in 22 games this season.

Moose Jaw's Reece Newkirk also found the back of the net on Sunday night in the Western Hockey League. The 17-year-old forward scored his 16th of the season in the Portland Winterhawks’ 10-2 win over the Kootenay Ice.

Newkirk now has 16 goals and 31 points through 28 games this season.
