The road to Hoopla continues this weekend with teams battling it out at regional championships to decide spots at the provincial championship next week in Saskatoon.

Two regional championships will be decided here in Moose Jaw at Peacock and Central, while a number of local teams will be hitting the hardwood around the province over the next two days.

The Central Cyclones, who are the top-ranked team in the 4A Boys Division, will be hosting one regional tournament this weekend. 

The Cyclones will battle 16th ranked La Loche in the regional semi-final on Friday at 8 pm, while the other semi-final has Yorkton Sacred Heart meeting Saskatoon Bedford Road at Central at 6 p.m. The winners of those two games meet in the regional final at 12 pm Saturday to decide who heads to Hoopla.

In other 4A Boys action, the seventh-ranked Peacock Toilers are in Wilcox to take on 10th ranked Regina Johnson at 4:30 pm on Friday in the regional semi-final. The regional final goes at 1:30 pm on Saturday.

The sixth-ranked Vanier Vikings are in Weyburn to take on 11th ranked Humboldt at 6 pm on Friday. The winner will meet either third-ranked Weyburn or 14th ranked Nipawin in the regional final on Saturday at 12 pm.

At Peacock, the third-ranked Toilers will be hosting a 4A Girls Regional Championship. They take on 14th ranked Regina Martin at 6 pm on Friday while the other regional semi-final has the sixth-ranked Central Cyclones battling 11th ranked Balgonie Greenall at 8 pm. The regional final goes on Saturday at 12 pm.

The 10th ranked Vanier Spirits are on the road in Melfort to take on seventh-ranked Regina Sheldon at 6 pm on Friday. They will face either second-ranked Melfort or 15th ranked Martensville in the regional final at 12 pm on Saturday.

In the 2A Girls Division, the ninth-ranked Cornerstone Falcons are in Regina to take on eighth-ranked Paradise Hills at 2:45 pm on Friday in the regional semi-final. The other semi-final has first place Regina Christian going up against Rosthern, the regional final is at 1:30 pm on Saturday.

The Briercrest Christian Academy Cougars are also hitting the court in the 3A Boys and Girls divisions.

The top-ranked Cougars are hosting the 3A Girls Regional Championship out in Caronport. They face 16th ranked Esterhazy at 6 pm and eighth-ranked Yorkton Sacred Heart takes on ninth-ranked Waldheim. The regional final is on Saturday at 12 pm.

In the 3A Boys Division, the Cougars are ranked ninth heading into their meeting with eighth-ranked Melville in Regina on Friday at 8 pm. The other semi-final will have first place Regina Christian taking on 16th ranked Churchbridge and the regional final is at 3:15 pm on Saturday.
