The Moose Jaw Miller Express just couldn't get that one hit that they needed throughout the game against the Regina Red Sox on Sunday.

Moose Jaw fell 4-0 to the rival Red Sox at Ross Wells Park in a Father’s Day matinee.

"It's been that way for the last two nights, balls just aren't falling for us the last two games, I believe our offence is real good and it's going to come around shortly," said catcher Ty Barclay, who had one of Moose Jaw's two hits in the loss.

Despite being limited in the hit department, the Millers did put pressure on the Red Sox throughout the game, putting runners into scoring position in the second, third, fourth, sixth and seventh innings.

Finding that key hit just wasn't in the cards throughout the game.

"I'm just seeing some guys pressing a little bit, squeezing the bat a little tight and trying to force some things when we haven't scored for a few innings," said Millers head coach Michael Hunt.

"It happens, guys will go hot and guys will cold, but we want to try to minimize the amount of guys going cold all at once."

Mitch Robinson returned to the mound for the Millers in the game in his first start since opening day. He was perfect through the first three innings, then pitched his way out of a bases loaded situation in the fourth before giving up his lone run in the fifth inning.

Robinson ended up throwing five innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits. He struck out four and walked three.

"He had a bit of a shoulder issue and we just skipped a couple of starts with him and got him back in," said Hunt. "He's everything he was before and everything he's going to be for the rest of the season."

The Red Sox opened the scoring in the fifth and that was the only run through much of the game, but they added some insurance in the ninth inning, tagging Millers reliever Cortland Hampton for three runs on three hits and two walks.

Matt Perry and Blake Gallagher combined to pitch three innings of scoreless relief to allow the Millers to stay in the game, but the offence couldn't never take advantage.

Dylan Bells earned the win for Regina, throwing five shutout innings with allowing two hits and three walks, while striking out three.

The Red Sox's bullpen pitched four innings of no-hit ball to seal the win.

The Millers are now 9-6 on the year in the Western Major Baseball League.

"We're just working hard to find some barrels right now and they just haven't been there for the last two days, but I believe in this offseason and it's going to come around shortly," said Barclay.

"I'm excited to play Melville (Monday), they had a good team when they came here last time and we got a win, so hopefully we can do that again."

The Millers are in Melville to take on the Millionaires on Monday night at 7 p.m.

The next home action for the Millers is coming up on Thursday when they open a two-game set against the Edmonton Prospects.
