The Moose Jaw Midget Mustangs rolled past the Weyburn Thrashers, 12-2, on Friday night at Crescent Point Place.

Kael Nichols had four goals and seven points, Atley Calvert registered five goals and six points, and Kirk Mullen picked up two goals and six points to lead Moose Jaw to the lopsided win.

The Mustangs' record improves to 3-2 on the year in the South Saskatchewan Lacrosse League.

Moose Jaw jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first period on two goals from Calvert and one each from Mullen, Kayde Shymko and Rowan Calvert.

Weyburn scored both their goals in the second period, but the Mustangs picked up two more goals from Atley Calvert; Shymko scored his second; Nichols scored twice; and Caelan Fitzpatrick also found the back of the net to make it 12-2 after two.

Ethan Johnson scored his first of the game just 19 seconds into the third. That was followed by two goals from Mullen; another from Atley Calvert, his fifth; two more from Nichols; Rowan Calvert’s second; and Blake Butler and Max Coulson’s first of the night.

The Mustangs are back in action on Monday when they host the Regina Snipers at the Kinsmen Arena at 7 p.m.
