Fifth, sixth, and ninth place were the finishes for the three local teams in this past weekend’s Moose Jaw Invitational senior girls volleyball tournament.

Oxbow dominated their way to the tournament title, beating Warman in the final on Saturday.

The Vanier Spirits edged the Peacock Toilers in three sets (25-21, 19-25, 15-11) to win the fifth-place game on Saturday afternoon.

Vanier finished third in the round robin but lost out to sixth place Warman in the quarterfinals of the playoff round on Saturday.

Peacock had placed fourth coming out of the round robin and was also upset in the quarterfinals, falling in three sets (25-17, 17-25, 15-9) to Lumsden.

The Central Cyclones ended up in ninth place after falling to Regina Johnson in three sets (22-25, 25-17, 16-14) on Saturday in the eighth-ninth place game to open the playoff round.

The senior girls league returns to the court on Monday night with the Toilers heading out to Caronport to take on the Briercrest Christian Academy Cougars at 6:30 p.m.
