The 2018 season started in the Moose Jaw High School Junior Boys Volleyball League on Monday night with games at two schools here in the city.

In the four-team round robin at Vanier, Craik had a strong start to the season with a 5-1 record in their three games. Craik split with Vanier, winning 25-13 and falling 25-19; they swept Riverview/Mortlach (25-11, 25-10) and Central (25-13, 25-19).

The Vikings and Royals both went 3-3. They split in their meeting with each team winning a set by the score of 25-22. Vanier split against Central, who went 1-5 on the night, winning 25-15 and losing 25-14.

Over at Peacock, the host Toilers were 4-1 in the three-team round robin. Peacock needed three sets to beat Central Butte/Eyebrow, losing 19-25 in the first set and then taking the next two, 25-21 and 15-9. The Toilers finished the night with a sweep of Cornerstone, winning 25-14 and 25-15.

Central Butte/Eyebrow finished the night 3-2 after they won in two sets, 25-21 and 25-22, over Cornerstone.

The junior girls league will open its season coming up on Wednesday, while the senior league is on the court for five games coming up on Tuesday night.
