Newly acquired 20-year-old forward Jadon Joseph skated at practice with the Moose Jaw Warriors for the first time Monday after a 16-hour drive from Vancouver.

Joseph, who has 58 career playoff games under his belt, is a real veteran presence on a team that could carry as many as eleven 17-year-old players this season.

"Yeah, I feel old, getting into the dressing room and shaking everybody's hand," he said. "Everybody's really young here, but it's awesome. Definietly it's big, me being 20 coming in with all these young guys. They need somebody to look up to, and I'm willing to do that. It's tough. It's the first day and everybody's new to each other."

Joseph was picked up for a third round pick in 2020 and a conditional 5th pick in 2022.

It was quite the journey to drive but he's happy to be here.

"The biggest thing with the coaching staff and myself was to get on the ice quick with the team here before Friday and get some chemistry and to get comfortable," he said.

Joseph and the Warriors start the 2019-2020 WHL season Friday in Regina against the Pats.

Joseph scored 22 goals and 31 assists in 68 games last year for Vancouver, Regina and Lethbridge. He was briefly a member of the Pats last season, and Joseph looks forward to starting off the season against his former team.

"I'm really excited. We'll get a good couple of practices here until we play them this weekend, and we'll hope for the best that game."
