Chris Jones was none too pleased with the Saskatchewan Roughriders' final practice at Mosaic Stadium this week.

Jones stopped practice on Tuesday and gave his team a tongue lashing as he felt they lacked the focus needed to prepare for Thursday's rematch with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

"We're not in any position to where we're good enough to just take them off the practice field, we've got to lineup and throw and catch and know our blocking assignments, so again, it's frustrating as a coach," said Jones after practice.

The Riders have a 2-2 record as they return from a bye week in Week 5. They came from behind to beat the Ti-Cats in their last game before the bye week.

Jones feels that the team may be taking that win for granted, "We can't put two days together," he said. "We're 2-2 and there's a reason, we show up one day and practice pretty good with great intensity and then we come out today and slop around for pretty much the whole day, so until we can figure that out, coaching staff-wise and leadership-wise, we're going to struggle."

Veteran offensive lineman Brendon LaBatte didn't hold back on his assessment of the team's practice habits either.

"It's been a long time coming," he said. "We go out there and we watch our walkthroughs and pre-practice stuff and it's garbage. There are missed assignments, balls on the ground and I think it's been a little overdue."

The Riders will square off with the Tiger-Cats on Thursday night in Hamilton.
