Score one for the girls!

For the first time in 117 years, a women's team won the Moose Jaw Men's Bonspiel.

"It's definitely history in the making," Danielle Sicinski laughingly shared following her team's win.

Sicinski along with Penny Barker, Christy Gamble and Deanna Doig won the men's bonspiel after organizers had trouble finding enough men's teams. "We decided to open it to women to try and make it a full event," said Rhonda Wenerchuk of the MJ Curling Centre. "So then Penny's team came in. And then Anna Cournier's team. We even had a couple of mixed teams get entered. So yeah, it was a good tournament."

"We kind of joked around that we needed to make up alias' for ourselves," Sicinski shared with a laugh. "So, Penny was Benny. Deanna was Dean. Christy was Chris. And I was Danny."

The 117th Annual Moose Jaw Men's Bonspiel is the longest running bonspiel in Saskatchewan.
