Curlers came from far and wide this weekend to hit the ice at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre.

There were 24 teams from around the province competing in the 2018 800 CHAB Youth Bonspiel on Saturday and Sunday in downtown Moose Jaw.

Moose Jaw’s Niki Stark and her team captured the 'C' Final of the Under-18 Division on Sunday.

"We knew we could do it from the very beginning, it was just a matter of making our shots and communicating as a team," said Stark after the win. "We missed a shot here and there, but overall, our communication was strong and that’s what led us to correct our shots."

The Stark rink also features third Ana Cornea, second Sydney Wells and lead Junea Wilderman.

The final matchups on Sunday were delayed for a short time after a power outage at Mosaic Place, but they were able to resume and wrap-up the weekend action.

The Under-18’s 'A' Final was won by Team Bryden out of Regina, skipped by Josh Bryden.

Team Zukewich from Estevan/Lampman, skipped by Katelyn Zukewich, won the Under-15 Division’s 'A' Final.

Moose Jaw’s Eric Lacombe and his team of Dante Cornea, Teagan Huyghebaert and Aidan Huyghebaert lost to Balgonie’s Dayne Koch in the U15’s 'D' Event final.

"We can learn a lot of things for sure [from this weekend]," said Lacombe after wrapping up on Sunday. "We have to communicate better, our takeouts need work, and sweeping, we need to practice a little bit on that."

Team Janae Wilson from Maple Creek won the U18 'B' Event.

The other U15 winners included: Keegan Clark out of Regina in the 'B' Event and Assiniboia’s Hunter Durell in the 'C' Event.
