The Moose Jaw Generals scored three times on their first four shots and cruised the rest of the way to a 6-0 win over the Swift Current Legionnaires in their preseason opener on Friday night at Mosaic Place.

Jake Palmer scored 59 seconds into the game to get the scoring started for the Generals. Evan Sare, Skyler Sangster and Steven Kesslering followed up the opening goal with three more markers over the next 10 minutes for a 4-0 lead after one.

Casey McDonald and Jonah Regier found the back of the net in the second period for the Generals as they rolled to the win.

Sangster and McDonald had a goal and two points each, while Jake Davidson and Ethan Hein made 11 saves each to split the shutout.

The Generals fired 37 shots in total on the Legionnaires’ net in the win.

Moose Jaw will return to the ice on Sunday in Swift Current when they meet the Legionnaires for a rematch. Puck drops at 6:15 p.m.
