The offence was clicking on all cylinders for the Moose Jaw Generals on Sunday afternoon in Wilcox.

The Generals scored a season-high seven goals on their way to a 7-4 win over the Notre Dame Argos in Sunday’s Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action.

Steven Kesslering led the way for the Generals with a hat trick; Casey McDonald had two goals and four points, his second straight four-point effort; and Brendan Kemp picked up four assists in the win.

Notre Dame struck first with Hunter Livingston scoring a power play goal 3:10 into the game. Moose Jaw responded right back with goals from McDonald and Jaxon Georget, but the Argos tied the game late in the period to make it a 2-2 game after one.

McDonald scored his second of the game 1:02 into the second period and the Generals held that lead until late in the frame. Qaritaq Kusugak picked up the Argos’ second power play goal with 6:33 left in the second to tie the game back up, but Kesslering’s first came with 2:32 to go and put Moose Jaw in front heading into the third.

Kesslering completed the hat trick with two goals in the opening 7:13 of the third period and Cody Davis added Moose Jaw’s fourth power play goal with 11:19 to go to put the game away.

Generals goalie Ethan Hein made 17 saves in the win, while the Generals peppered the Argos’ net with 34 shots.

The win is the second straight for the Generals over the Argos and it improves Moose Jaw’s record to 9-27-2-3 on the year.

The Generals will host Swift Current on Wednesday to kick-off the final week of the regular season.  They host the Battlefords for two games on Saturday and Sunday to finish the year.
