The Moose Jaw Generals are hanging onto their playoff lives by a thread.

The Generals won 3-1 over the Notre Dame Argos on Saturday and then lost 7-4 to the second place Saskatoon Blazers on Sunday.

Coming out of the weekend, the Generals sit ten points behind the Saskatoon Contacts for the final playoffs spot with five games to play. Moose Jaw does play the Contacts twice in those final five games.

The Generals return to the ice on Wednesday in Wilcox against the Argos.

The Generals played a tight game against the Argos to open the weekend on Saturday night at the Duncan McNeill Arena.

Cody Davis opened the scoring for Moose Jaw with a power-play goal midway through the first period.

Notre Dame tied the game when Christian Adlys potted a power-play goal just 1:47 into the second period.

Moose Jaw was able to answer when Jaxson Georget scored a shorthanded goal with 15 seconds remaining in the second to put the Generals back in front 2-1 after 40.

In the third, the Generals outshot the Argos, 11-8, and captain Brendan Kemp sealed the win with an empty-net goal.

Reece Hodson made 29 saves in the win for the Generals.

Blazers 7 Generals 4

The Generals came out of the gates firing against the Blazers on Sunday afternoon in Davidson.

Steven Kesslering opened the scoring seven minutes into the game, Georget followed that up only 1:32 later, and then Casey McDonald put the Generals in front 3-0 with 2:46 to play in the first.

Saskatoon would strike back before the period was out with goals from Rhett Gibson and Jordan Edwards just 20 seconds apart to make it 3-2 after one.

The second period was all Blazers as they outshot Moose Jaw, 17-8, and picked up goals from Gibson, Max Gudnason, James Form and Cole Nagy to move Saskatoon in front 6-3.

Davis scored for the Generals just over six minutes into the third period, but they couldn’t close the gap anymore as Form potted his second of the game to give the Blazers the win.

Jaxson Taupert returned to the lineup in the loss for Moose Jaw, he stopped 46 shots in the Generals' goal.
