The Moose Jaw Generals weren't able to make it three-in-a-row on Wednesday night in the Queen City.

The Generals were doubled up 6-3 by the Regina Pat Canadians in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. The loss leaves Moose Jaw sitting eight points out of a playoff spot with seven games to play.

Casey McDonald potted a hat trick for the Generals, but it wasn't enough to pull them past the third-place Pat Canadians.

Cole Sillinger opened the scoring for Regina with 3:59 to play in the first period, but McDonald was able to answer for Moose Jaw before the period was out, tying the game with 1:10 left in the frame.

Sillinger took control for the Pat Canadians in the second, scoring 2:01 into the period and then picking up his hat trick goal just 5:54 later to make it 3-1 for Regina heading into the third.

Luc Marleau and Johnny Carmichael would score 31 seconds apart early in the third period to continue to push the Pat Canadians further from the Generals.

Caron Whyte made it 6-1 for Regina with 12:22 to play. McDonald would respond for the Generals only 24 seconds later and he added his hat trick goal with 5:55 to play, but it wasn't enough.

Generals goalie Reece Hodson stopped 36-of-42 shots that he faced in the loss.

The Generals will aim to bounce back when they play two more road games this weekend. They travel to Wilcox to meet up with the Notre Dame Argos on Saturday and then they make their way to the Bridge City to face the Saskatoon Blazers on Sunday.
