Moose Jaw Warriors alum Jesse Forsberg picked up a big honour on Wednesday night.

Forsberg was named a second-team All-Canadian at the U Sports Men's Hockey Awards Night. It’s the second 

The 25-year-old is in his fifth season with the Saskatchewan Huskies, serving as team captain this season. He finished with six goals and 21 points in 24 games to finish second among Canada West defencemen.

Forsberg and the Huskies will open the 2019 University Cup in Lethbridge on Thursday against the Guelph Griffons in the national quarter-final. Puck drops at 1 p.m.

Fellow Warriors alum Zach Sawchenko and the Alberta Golden Bears take on the host Lethbridge Pronghorns in the quarterfinals on Thursday as well. They face-off at 7 p.m.

The semifinals are on Saturday and the medal games will go on Sunday.
