The Los Angeles Kings announced yesterday that they won’t renew the contract of the AHL's Ontario Reign head coach Mike Stothers.

The former Moose Jaw Warriors coach was the head coach of the Kings’ American Hockey League affiliate for the last six seasons.

Stothers and the Manchester Monarchs won the Calder Cup in 2015, as he won the Louis A.R. Pieri Award for coach of the year. The Kings switched their AHL affiliation to Ontario, California the following season.

He was the head coach of the Warriors for three seasons. He won 91 games in those three seasons and the team went to the WHL's Eastern Conference Final with him behind the bench in 2012.
