The Moose Jaw Kinsmen Flying Fins came home with a whole lot of hardware from 2018 Manitoba/Saskatchewan Open Championships in Saskatoon.

The local club had a stellar weekend, capturing three Saskatchewan Age Group Titles and one Overall Title to go along with the Saskatchewan and Overall Top Small Team titles.

"I was pretty proud of everyone, it was a pretty great weekend for our guys," said Flying Fins head coach Laura Harvey.

"They're feeling really good about themselves right now and we have three more going onto Junior Nationals at the end of July in Winnipeg, so the momentum is really building for them and the rest of the kids finished off the season with a really great meet."

13-year-old Danael Liew led the charge for the Flying Fins, winning four gold and three silver medals at the meet. All that added up to the talented young swimmer winning the 13-and-under Saskatchewan Age Group title and the Overall Individual High Point award.

"I felt like it went really good, my technique felt really good and I was swimming pretty fast. I just focused on trying my best and I did really well," said Liew, who took gold in the 50-metre breaststroke, the 100m backstroke, and the 200m and 400m individual medley.

Liew was joined in the Saskatchewan High Points winner's circle by Chloe Johns in the 12-and-under division and Cadence Johns in the 13-14 division.

Cadence Johns won gold in the 200m and 400m IM, while taking silver in the 200m backstroke. She also took bronze in the 100m backstroke and 200m breaststroke.

For Chloe Johns, she earned gold in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststrokes, while taking bronze in the 200m and 400m IM.

Austin Lin also picked up four medals -- one silver and three bronze -- while Olivia Harvey took bronze in the 200m freestyle and Elyssa Tacchi claimed bronze in the 200m breaststroke.

Kate Waldenberger didn't win a medal, but she had a stellar meet with 100-percent personal best times, which included shaving 10.34% off her time in the 50m backstroke.

Next up for the Flying Fins is the 2018 Canadian Junior Championships in Winnipeg from July 25-30.
