The Moose Jaw Kinsmen Flying Fins put together a fantastic weekend at the Brainsport Invitational in Saskatoon earlier this month.

The local swimmers brought back 15 gold medals and 36 medals in total during the meet. The club also had 15 swimmers hit 100-percent personal best times during the meet.

Cadence Johns continued to add to her medal collection with three gold, one silver and one bronze.

"I thought it went really well for the first long course meet of the year," said Johns.

"My swims that I don't swim very often went well considering I don't always train the strokes that I raced."

Johns said that she noticed some areas that need some work coming out of the meet, "Just keeping that pace going for the longer distances and keeping that endurance going and so I'm going to focus on that going into the next meet," she said.

Johns was recently in Toronto with Team Saskatchewan at the Toronto Grand Prix where she competed on the national stage and picked up a third place in the 400 individual medley.

"There were a lot of high-level athletes there, so there was really good competition and I felt I performed well there," said Johns.

Olivia Harvey was also in Toronto for the meet and she also captured a good medal haul in Saskatoon, picking up three gold and one bronze at the Brainsport Invitational.

She's coming away pleased with how she swam.

"My 100 fly, I was working a lot on kicking and pulling myself forward and on my backstroke, I've been working on keeping it going the whole time," she said.

"I'm doing pretty good, I just need to work on little things like technique to do better in the race."

Harvey swam a Western Canadian Championship qualifying time in the 100m fly, while Chloe Johns picked up the mark in the 100m breaststroke.

Damian Chartrand also had a great weekend in Saskatoon as he picked up four gold medals and one silver. He also swam 100-percent personal best times, collecting a much sought after AA time in the 800 freestyle to qualify for the ManSask.

Mateah Purdy swam AA times in the 100m and 200m breaststroke, while Emma Stafford achieved an AA time in the 50m freestyle.
