The CFL announced Monday that the league will resume August 5, and on Tuesday, the 2021 season schedule was released.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders 14-game season will begin Friday, August 6 against the BC Lions at Mosaic Stadium.

Premier Scott Moe has also stated a number of times that he believes the green and white will be able to open the season in front of a full stadium.

We asked some local residents how they would feel attending a Rider game with 33,000 other fans.

"I think I would feel pretty comfortable. I think that everything has been put in place to make us feel comfortable going."

"I'm sure people will take some precautions, and if you are going and you feel like you need to take some precautions, do it."

"Let's giver. Let's put this behind us, have a fun summer, and cheer on some Rider football."

"I think I would feel only about 50% comfortable."

"I'm not going to be 100% running into the stadium, but I'm definitely open to what going to a game would look like and going back out there and supporting the entertainment industry."

"It might take some getting used to after all this time staying away from other people."

"I'll feel comfortable enough going after I get my second vaccine shot. I'm looking forward to it."

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have yet to release what the return of fans might look like; if they will shoot for 100% capacity, if vaccinations will be required, or if masking will be mandatory.

At the rate Saskatchewan is moving at with the 'Re-opening Roadmap', we should be able to hit Step 3 in early to mid-July, which would mean the lifting of all public health measures.
