The Moose Jaw Warriors made a couple of big deals last Thursday on trade deadline day, as General Manager Alan Millar picked up 18-year-old Carson Denomie from the Kamloops Blazers, and 19-year-old forward Alec Zawatsky from Swift Current.

Denomie is with the team to help them kick off a 2 week, 7 game road trip - starting off with a game against his former team Tuesday Night.

He talks about the trade that saw him come to the friendly city;

"I was happy to come closer to home, Moose Jaw is only a 30 minute drive. It was exciting, I watched the Warriors in Regina a lot and kind of knew what they were about a little bit so its exciting. To get a new opportunity, a fresh start, I'm just looking to make the best of it right now"

Denomie says hes confident that he will fit in with the team;

"I'm a big body, I can work the corners, be physical at times and be hard to play against. I think i still have an offensive side to my game and when the opportunity comes im going to be able to make the most of it"

As for starting off his time with the Warriors with a west coast road trip, Denomie says hes excited to get to know the team;

"Its a great opportunity to get to know the guys, to get to know the coach, how the team is running and everything. Playing my old team this early - i'd rather have it this way to get it out of the way"

You can tune in to Country 100 for all the action starting with the pre-game show starting at 8:40, puck drop at 9.
