In a battle of two undefeated teams on Wednesday night, the Cornerstone Falcons came out on top, beating the Peacock Toilers, 62-61 in overtime, in the Moose Jaw High School Junior Girls League.

Grace Geradts scored four points in the overtime period to lead the Falcons to the win. She finished with a game-high 24 points, while Eva Gray chipped in with 17 points and Chiamaka Aghamelu had 11.

Caitlin Miller and Caitlyn Johnson led Peacock with 14 points each, while Eden Gusa picked up 12.

The win keeps the Falcons unbeaten, and leading the varsity girls division, with a perfect 6-0 record, while the Toilers drop to 6-1, they still lead the junior girls division.

Cornerstone is back on the court on Monday against Riverview, while Peacock returns to action next Wednesday for a showdown with Central.

There was also three boys games on the court on Wednesday.

The Central Red Cyclones improved to 6-0 in the junior varsity boys division with a 69-40 win over the Peacock Orange Toilers, who dropped to 0-5.

The Central Gold Cyclones narrowly beat the Cornerstone/Riverview Royals, picking up an 88-86 victory. The Gold Cyclones are now 5-2 on their, while the Royals fall to 3-3.

The Central Butte Bulldogs won their first game of the season, beating the Vanier White Vikings, 78-60. The Bulldogs are now 1-4 and Vanier White falls to 0-5.

There’s two games on the the junior basketball schedule on Thursday night with Peacock Orange hosting Assiniboia in the boys division at 5:30 p.m. and Central taking on Riverview in the girls division at 6:20 p.m.
