The Cornerstone Falcons found the win column for the second time this season as they went into Central Collegiate and knocked off the Cyclones in four sets on Thursday night.

The lone game on the high school senior volleyball league schedule for the night saw the Falcons improve to 2-6 in the girls league, while the Cyclones drop to 1-7 with the loss.

Cornerstone jumped out to 25-15 and 25-21 wins in the first two sets. The Cyclones battled back with a 25-22 win in the third set, but the Falcons finished the night with a 25-6 win in the fourth set.

Both teams will return to the court on Tuesday when Cornerstone heads over to Vanier and Central travels out to Caronport.

The Moose Jaw Invitational Senior Boys Volleyball Tournament sees 16 teams from around the province descend on the Friendly City this weekend.

The Central Cyclones, Cornerstone Falcons, Peacock Toilers and Vanier Spirits will be the local teams taking part in the tournament.

The tournament opens with games at Peacock, Central and Vanier from 2:30-8 p.m. on Friday and then the round-robin and playoff round will be held at Peacock and Vanier on Saturday. Click here for the full schedule.
