A three-run fifth inning was enough to propel the Colts to a victory in Game 1 of the Moose Jaw Senior Ladies Fastball League's Final.

The Colts edged the Hustlers 3-1 at Caribou Heights on Monday night to open the best-of-five series.

The Hustlers struck first in the game with lead-off hitter Sheri Logan coming around to score in the third inning.

After being held in check for the first four innings, the Colts finally broke through in the fifth inning, which was started off with a walk by catcher Deleigh Brentnall. She would come around to score on a two-run double by pitcher Sandi Gray, who would also eventually come home on a single by first baseman Jasmine Jackman.

Gray held the Hustlers at one run over the final two innings to seal the opening win. Grab ended up striking out two over seven innings, while limiting the Hustlers to just four hits.

Adrianna Phillips started for the Hustlers in the loss.

Game 2 of the series is set for Wednesday night at Caribou Heights. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m.
