The Saskatchewan Roughriders and Zach Collaros have worked out a new deal.

The veteran pivot was acquired by the Riders from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats earlier this month, but was due to be paid around $500,000 coming up this season.

After announcing the trade to add Collaros, the Riders also stated that they would be looking to restructure Collaros’ contract and they’ve done that for the 2018 season.

Financial details of the new contract were not released on Friday.

Collaros is coming off to subpar seasons with Hamilton that saw him lose his starting job to Jeremiah Masoli after starting 0-8. That opened the door for him to be acquired by Saskatchewan.

Over his four seasons in Hamilton, Collaros passed for 11,342 yards with 66 touchdowns and 32 interceptions.

Collaros is expected to battle Brandon Bridge for the starting quarterback job at training camp.
