A work stoppage in the Canadian Football League could become a reality as the collective bargaining agreement negotiations continue to play out on social media.

CFL Players Association executive director Brian Ramsay took to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon to announce the players have given the league a clear deadline and that the players won't work without a new CBA.

"We are working hard to bargain in good faith and we firmly believe both sides should be willing to work as hard as possible to get an agreement done in a fair and timely manner," Ramsay stated.

"The CFL's unilateral decision to delay bargaining and withhold off-season compensation are aggressive acts and CFL players are responding accordingly. We have the full support of the CFLPA membership."

The negotiations between the two sides stalled last week when the CFLPA announced that the league decided to delay more contract talks for at least two weeks.

Training camps are scheduled to open across the league in a month.
