Central’s Ray-Lyn Schmidt continued her domination of the South Central District last week.

Schmidt won her third straight South Central District female golf title on Friday in Coronach, winning by 12 strikes over Assiniboia’s Lindsay Hawkins.

The Central grade 11 flew out of the gate with a 45 on the front-nine and then posted a 48 on the back to finish with a 93. Hawkins was second with a 105, while Lafleche’s Jaelynne Packet came in third with an 110.

Peacock’s Skylar Ackerman was fifth after shooting a 146.

Schmidt will now represent the South Central District at provincials in Estevan on Friday and Saturday.

On the boys side, Peacock’s Cole Morash was the top finisher, coming in sixth after posting a 95. His two Peacock teammates, Jaxton Kurz and Evan Polupski, shot 119 and 129, respectively.

Avonlea’s Brayden Nestman won the tournament with an 82, followed by a pair of Mankota golfers in Kent Brisebois and Shaun Zerr with 86 and 91, respectively.
