Eight games hit the ice on Wednesday night as the Original 16 Cash League closed out the regular season at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre.

The Penny Barker rink locked up first place with a 13-1 record after securing an 8-3 over the Joe Gunnis rink, who fell to 4-10 with the loss.

Second place goes to the Joel Jordison rink (12-2) after they knocked off the Warren Marcotte, 4-2, in a battle between the second and third place teams. 

Marcotte finishes the regular season with a 10-4 record, which ties him with Ryan Wenarchuk (10-5) and Stan Barnsley (10-4) for third place.

Wenarchuk picked up an 8-6 win over Murray Stroeder (8-7) to close out the regular season, while Barnsley won 6-4 over Patrick Ackerman (3-11).

Bob Desjarlais’ rink finished in sixth place with a 9-6 record after they won 7-1 over Barb Wallace (2-13).

Just behind Desjarlais sit Stroeder, as well as Lorraine Arguin and Ben Gamble, all with eight wins on the year.

Arguin rolled to a 10-1 win over Shaunna Fritzler (2-11), while Gamble made quick work of Wade Gray (4-11), 11-2, to finish of round robin play on Wednesday.

In other action, Ralph Courtnage fell 8-1 to Donna Ackerman to finish at 6-8, while Ackerman improves to 5-9.

The double knockout playoffs start next Wednesday. The games start at 7:30 p.m. each week.
