Moose Jaw Warriors captain Josh Brook assisted on Canada's opening goal, but they couldn't make it two in a row over the U Sports All-Stars on Thursday night.

The top university players struck back against Canada’s National Junior Team, winning 5-3 at the Q Centre in Victoria, B.C. in the second game of their three-game exhibition series.

After sitting out the first game on Wednesday, Brook made an impact immediately in his first game action at the World Junior Selection Camp. The Montreal Canadiens prospect set up Hamilton Bulldogs forward MacKenzie Entwistle just 4:47 into the game.

Nikolas Brouillard would tie the game up midway through the first and then the U Sports All-Stars took a 2-0 lead on a goal from Riley Sheen 4:47 into the second period.

Canada picked up a power-play goal from Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds forward Morgan Frost and less than a minute later, Owen Tippett from the Mississauga Ice Dogs made it 3-2 for the junior squad.

However, U Sports struck for goals from Kris Bennett and Mark Simpson just 57 seconds apart late in the second period to give them a 4-3 lead.

Holden Cook provided the insurance for U Sports midway through the third.

Prince Albert Raiders goalie Ian Scott turned away 27 shots to pick up the win in goal for the U Sports All-Stars, while Greyhounds goalie Matthew Villalta started for Canada, stopping 13-of-15 shots, and Ottawa 67s goalie Michael DiPietro made eight saves on 10 shots.

These two teams meet again on Friday afternoon in Victoria to close out the selection camp. Puck drops at 4 p.m. Sask time.
