The Moose Jaw Warriors announced before Saturday's home opener that 19-year-old defenceman Josh Brook has been named the 32nd captain in franchise history.  As well, 19-year-old Justin Almeida and 20-year-old Tristin Langan have been named Alternate Captains.

Brook was selected by the Warriors with the fourth overall pick in the first round of the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft and is entering his fourth season in the Western Hockey League. In 145 games with the Warriors, he has 15 goals, 67 assists, and 82 points, and in 31 career playoff games, he has four goals, 14 assists, and 18 points.

The Roblin, MB product was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round, 56th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.  He signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Canadiens on Friday after attending their training camp for the past few weeks.

Brook will make his season debut with the Warriors on Saturday when they face-off with the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Langan, a product of Swan River, MB, was selected by the Warriors in the ninth round of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.  Last year, he posted career highs in goals, assists, and points, finishing the season with 16 goals, 26 assists, and 42 points.

The 20-year-old is entering his final season in the WHL and has played in 175 games, scoring 25 goals, 47 assists, and 72 points.

Almeida was originally selected by the Prince George Cougars with the fifth overall pick in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft and was acquired by the Warriors midway through the 2016-17 season.  Last year, Almeida finished third in team scoring with 43 goals, 55 assists, and 98 points.

In 193 career WHL games, Almeida has 57 goals, 76 assists, and 133 points and his hard work was rewarded earlier this year when the Pittsburgh Penguins selected him in the fifth round, 129th overall, at the 2018 NHL Draft.
