Breaking News from Riderville, just a week after Head Coach and General Manager Chris Jones signed a contract extension, it has been announced that he will be leaving the Saskatchewan Roughriders to take a job in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns.

“We are proud of what Chris came in and accomplished through his three seasons as general manager and head coach,” said Riders President & CEO Craig Reynolds in a written statement. “His work obviously didn’t go unnoticed and we congratulate him on his opportunity in the National Football League and thank him for his contribution to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. We are fortunate to have many quality football leaders and coaches on our staff. We will evaluate and will look to fill the vacancy quickly.”

Jones started with the Roughriders in 2015 and finished with a 27-27 record, making the playoffs 2 out of 3 seasons.
