Moose Jaw scored three goals in the first and added two in the third and went on to a 5-2 win over the Kamloops Blazers Tuesday at Sandman Centre in the first game of their 7-game road trip.

Throughout the first period the team's exchanges opportunities as they combined for 24 shots in the first 20 minutes.

The Warriors did a great job on the fore-check attacking the Blazers deep in their zone.  That led to errand passes by Kamloops and the Warriors pounced on the turnovers.

Three and a half minutes in to the game, Tristin Langan forced Kamloops in to a turnover high in their zone and then drove to the net on an odd-man rush with Brayden Tracey.  Langan went to Tracey on the right who then returned the puck to Langan who finished the rush with his team-leading 33rd goal.

Kamloops was able to tie the game just over three minutes later on a goal from Brodi Stewart but the Warriors kept coming.

Working on the power play at the midway point, Captain Josh Brook controlled the puck along the right Blazers boards.  Brook made a beautiful cross-ice pass to Justin Almeida inside the left circle, Almeida the put a shot over the blocker of Dylan Ferguson for his 12th goal of the season.

Then with just under four minutes left in the period, the Warriors added to their lead.

Moose Jaw created a turnover inside the Kamloops zone and moved the puck to the blueline for Josh Brook who then slid the puck to Justin Almeida on top of the left circle.  Almeida looked to the net and made a pass to the stick of Daniil Stepanov on the right side of the Kamloops net where he directed in his 4th goal of the season to make it 3-1.

Kamloops narrowly outshot the Warriors 10-9 in the second period and they picked up a deflection goal from Jermaine Loewen at 12:03 to make it a one-goal game.

Early in the third period, the Blazers created a quality scoring chance on top of the Moose Jaw crease but Adam Evanoff held his ground and made 15 saves in the third period to keep Kamloops off the scoreboard.

Moose Jaw went up by two with under five minutes left in the third period when Justin Almeida picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone and then dangled inside in the right Blazer circle and snapped a puck top shelf for his second of the game.

The Warriors picked up a late power play opportunity inside the final four minutes of the game.  Dalton Hamaliuk pinched off the right blueline and hammered in a loose puck on the right side of the crease for his 3rd of the season.

Justin Almeida led the Warriors with two goals and four points, Tristin Langan finished with a goal and two points, Josh Brook picked up two assists, and Adam Evanoff made 34 saves.

With the win, the Warriors moved 11 points up on Brandon for 3rd in the East Division and they moved to seven points back of Saskatoon for 2nd with five games in-hand.
