Marilyn Joy Stephanson

Marilyn Joy Stephanson (Adams) passed away suddenly and peacefully on Tuesday October 16th, 2018 at the age of 81 years. Marilyn was born on June 13, 1937 in Saskatoon, SK to Lionel and Amy Adams. Marilyn’s employment history included a telegraph runner for the CN railway, clerk at Kresge’s Department Store and a bank teller at Credit Union. After marrying Ronald, she devoted her life to her family. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 62 years Ronald, her children Kari, Brent (Gayleen), Doug (Tawnia), and Stacey (Wade): eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; 2 brothers (Murray and Dennis) and sister (Sheri); nieces and nephews. Marilyn loved spring and summer as she continued to plant numerous flowers with Kari and maintain a large garden. She was known for her awesome baking; pies, squares, cakes and her bottomless cookie jar. Marilyn had a strong interest in genealogy. She researched the family history and created a family tree dating back several hundred years. Marilyn loved to read, especially Harlequin Romance novels. She loved watching all sports and kept statistics on every World Series game dating back to 1982. She also loved attending her grandchildren’s activities to cheer them on and was always so proud of their achievements. Marilyn will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A Memorial Tea will be held on Friday, October 19th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Lounge & Court, 60 Athabasca St. East. A private burial will occur at a later date. Friends wishing to make a donation in lieu of flowers may do so to the charity of their choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw.
