Johnson, Russell Frederick

With love, Russ's family announces his passing on January 7 in Saskatoon. He lived, built, repaired everything he could, and supported his family unconditionally until cancer would no longer let him. Russ was loved by his wife Diane (née Lehto), whom he married in 1975, his children Michelle (Karl-Erik), Michael (Heather), and Lisa (Kelly). He is survived by his siblings, Theodore (Joyce), Earl (Faye), brother-in-law Garry Fredrickson, and sister-in-law Nancy Johnson. Russ was predeceased by his parents Theodore and Anne, his sisters, Margaret Lawes, Avis Bent, Mae Swan, and Pauline Fredrickson, and his brother Raymond.Russ was born in Beechy, Saskatchewan, in 1947, grew up on the family farm, and worked as a civil engineer for 45 years. He appreciated time outdoors, at the lake, and travelling with his family, which he loved to capture in photographs. In his retirement, Russ adored his grandchildren, Soren, Eden, Linc, and Alix, and took pleasure in tending to the family cabin. He volunteered with local community organizations and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS). His family thanks the compassionate health care professionals at St. Paul's Hospital who cared for him during his final days. Cremation has been entrusted to Martens Warman Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
