CAMPBELL, JAMES RUSSELL (JIM)

It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved father, brother, companion and friend, James “Jim” Russell Campbell, as he was tragically taken from us on Thursday, December 6th, 2018 at the young age of 56 years. Jim touched the hearts of many with his kindness, sense of humor and strong love for the community. He was the eldest son of the late Russell and Mary Campbell. The biggest pride and joy in his life were his two daughters, Kaitlyn and Breanna. Jim also leaves behind his cherished partner, Karen Langton; and his three younger brothers: Colin (Toni), Stuart (Elizabeth), and Donald (Gin). He was a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews: Alicia (Brendyn), Brody (Tori), Brydon and Aftyn; as well as great-uncle to Michael, and nephew of Albert (Sheila) Berger. He leaves behind many cousins and close friends. Jim was born November 2nd, 1962 in Regina, SK. He grew up on the family farm southwest of Central Butte, SK. At the age of 16 he left school to become a full-time farmer. During his life, Jim served on many volunteer communities and followed in his father’s footsteps, serving as a councilor in the RM of Enfield and eventually taking the position of Reeve. Jim shared his love of farming with his brother Colin and nephews Brody and Brydon. He enjoyed his summers riding his Harley, exploring the world with his partner Karen, and spending time with his girls at the lake, camping and fishing. Jim was overjoyed with the accomplishments of his daughters, both of whom take after their father. Kaitlyn with a business mind like her father, obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan. Breanna pursued her willingness to help others in need and is currently in the process of obtaining a degree in Social Work through the University of Regina and a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Science, majoring in Sociology and minoring in Crime, Law and Justice from the University of Saskatchewan. Jim loved life and made friends wherever he went.He found a way to connect with the people around him, young or old. No matter how your day was going, he found a way to put things in perspective. He will be greatly missed by us all. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on Tuesday, December 18th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Moose Jaw Alliance Church, 14 Neslia Pl, Moose Jaw, SK. Dave Foley will officiate and interment will take place at Central Butte Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Jim’s name may be made to the Central Butte Fire Brigade, Box 248, Central Butte, SK S0H 0T0. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
